I have stayed at both hotels rama is a little out of town although they offer a free shuttle to town found getting back at night time could be a hassle especially if after ten was a lovely hotel with lots of areas to chill and relax and some beautiful gardens. The Pondok was great stayed in family room with husband and two kids, very central and easy to walk both ways to lots of eateries the rooms where spacious and clean including a good breakfast, they have a nice pool area but no big expansive gardens like the rama. It depends what you are after but as far as location and ease of getting around candi dasa I would go the Pondok. Hope you enjoy love Candi Dasa and surrounding areas. Also the Ashyana is another nice hotel just a little bigger than the Pondok and right on beach. Hope this helps.
