It was a whiles back but took the outrigger from Sanua and wandered down the road to Ketut's Bungalows. Had a one acre bed and rocking chairs on the porch. Bintangs in the mini bar were cheaper than at the restaurant. At sundown we would grab a couple of Bintangs and our books and head down to the seaside terrace and watch the seaweed farmers quietly moving through the lagoon, the surfers out on the reef break and the sun setting over Agung. Never read a page of the books. There were a couple of local cafes for eating. We hired a motor bike to see the island, got geographically embarrassed, listened to the local musicians practise. Another day we hired a little boat, 'The Flash' and headed around the island (we snorkeled, well really we just drifted with the current). The overall vibe was peace, quiet and beauty of a kind I rarely experience. Candi Dasa is pretty nice too.
