Gili Islands/Lombok

Hi all,
I'm about to travel to Bali for my 8th time with my partner and we are looking at heading to the Gili Islands or Lombok for a night or two to do, and go, somewhere we haven't been. I'm just looking at some advice about which Island would be better to go to, Hotels and best way to get there.
