I received an email from Air Asia asking whether we would be interested in going into a ballot for flatbed upgrades through Optiontown.
It cost $76 each which was payable up front but refunded if we were not successful.
We received the email 2 days before our flight to say we had been upgraded.
Was worth every cent both having never flown anything but "cattle class". Priority check in and a free meal are included.
I'm sure there would be upgrades available at the airport if the all the flatbeds are not taken.
