...we went through road blocks quite a number of times. Once on the bikes we got pulled over and they did license checks. No fines. This year we saw them in Sanur (and our drive said always there) and again in another part, forget where it was.

They do paper checks on the locals bikes also. In fact, there were more locals pulled over than tourists.. but,.. there's more locals than tourists around lol.

You do need an international drivers permit though, covered with your own aust motorbike license.

In the busy areas, it's easy to ride, just go with the traffic (very slowly). Out on the busier roads is a bit hairy! I find riding over there quite fun!
