We had similar experience to the previous poster. We went on the night safari abt 2 years ago and traveled around in a jeep. First we fed the zebra who poked their heads in the windows, we then moved onto the lions. Here the bars we not moved across the windows so we closed the windows as we were not happy about the safety side of things, the driver took our camera and leaned out the window and took pictures. We had a good time and got some great photos.
Last year we returned to the safari park and again did the night safari. The transport was now a truck with a large cage on the back. We sat in the restaurant and watched the early tours going through the lion area. Just before we were ready to go it started to rain, I asked if we could change and go the next night, but was told that it was not possible but they would give us rain ponchos. When it was time to go we were given the ponchos and lead to the truck. As said before we had to stand in the truck. The rain was not too bad and it was worth it to feed the zebra, we went into the lions but they don't like rain and were laying in the dry cave area. Next we went into where the tigers were and the staff encouraged a couple to jump onto the roof of the truck. We were very up close to the tigers. We stopped and fed some elephants last before we returned to the restaurant area.
Both experiences were different but we enjoyed both. The second time would have been better if it had not rained, but you cant change nature.
Not sure how much it costs as it was included in the package to stay at the park.
