Thanks again to everybody for all your kind suggestions - it was so hard to make a decision - but I have decided to go for the Kembali Lagi GH - a standard room at USD $38.30 per night (within the budget so long as the exchange rate doesn't change too much!!)
Hopefully it won't be too far to walk up to the main drag - and I will certainly try to have a look at the other suggestions while I'm there
