flew air asia no problems. got to bali airport and the line up was horrific so paid for vip, am so glad we did that as thru in about 5 mins instead of 90. had friend komang pick us up and take us to ubud via a circle k to get drinks for trip. traffic good so wasn't long and we were at our hotel. we stayed ay the Alaya, it's as u come into ubud not far from monkey forest. what can i say other than it was superb. great location next to coco mart, staff fantastic, room huge, view overlooking rice fields what more could u ask for.
went for a look around with a driver at the not so touristy spots eg bali village, temple and a wonderful coffee plantation. had a gander at a hotel we stayed at 18 years ago and what a change it was, glad we didn't stay here, very run down.
did lots of walking as hotel about 20 mins by foot from markets. plenty to look at along the way so easy going.
ate and drank at oops,cinta,green house,havana cafe and the hotel, no complaints any where, all good
ubud itself is nice for something different but is too quiet for me. would i visit again,yes would i stay, no, but never say never.
