Just back last week after a short 6 day stay in paradise. Flew out one night on A/A. Arrived 20 mins early. Straight through VOA and waited about 10 mins to get through immigration. Only had hand luggage so straight through x-ray and out to the driver! Noticed how much cleaner the air seemed to be. Not too much traffic on the way to the hotel so all good.
Checked in to the Kumala-P. Thankfully got a ground floor room so no stairs to climb. Staff were very welcoming. Our balcony area had round pavers marking a cute pathway through the very overgrown yet beautiful garden to the pool area. Very private. Pool was great and met other (mainly) Aussies while having a few swims. Thankfully there were no yobbos... apparently they were next door at the Jaya according to one couple we spoke with.
The air con was left on the whole time we were there at a very nice 18C. The bathroom was functional, and the shower was great once you got the hot and cold mix right!
I wasn't sure what we were going to get at KP going by some of the comments on TA but have to say I would definitely stay there again. Breakfast had an ample supply of choice. Cant say the staff are very good at making coffee. After the second morning worked out better to buy a coffee elsewhere!
Watched an amazing sunset from a bean bag on the beach right out the front of the hotel.
This trip was a to be a relaxing girls trip and that it was. Went to the spa out the back of the hotel between the Jaya Hotel and KP. They were just wonderful including taking good note of my sore toe from a gardening accident. (told my hubby many times that gardening is a health hazard!!)
Did lots of walking and window whopping around the place.
Went to a night market in Denpasaar which was interesting. We were the only Aussies there and it was amazing how quickly the word 'tourist' got around the joint. Thankfully our driver stepped in and my friend got the bag she wanted down from 950,000rp to 90,000rp with his assistance. Bought some cheap (cheaper even than Mataharis)underdaks for my boys and bits and bobs for my girls. All up an interesting place to see.
Went to Geneva one day and that was meant only to show my friend.... you guessed it .... I ended up buying more goodies to bring home!
Slept in most mornings, had light lunches and then something more substantial for an evening meal. Ate out at mostly local restaurants.
No Bali belly and hardly any mosquitoes!
Flight home with A?A was delayed for some 25 minutes while some Japanese tourist decided whether they should be on the flight or not!
Got straight through Aussie customs and was home for a shower and nana nap about 40 minutes after we landed.
Now to prepare for my next trip to paradise with the family in July...
