Many aspects of the hotel were lovely but there were too many negatives for us. Firstly there was a group of very loud and drunk Canadians there on a boys trip and it seemed as though the hotel staff had given them free reign of the hotel as they did whatever they wanted and some of it was pretty crass, one exposed himself to my mother who very dryly said "Oh you poor sweetheart, is that it? I've seen bigger penises on new borns". They were fighting each other (good old starts in fun ends in tears) and the hotel staff seemed too scared to do anything so they kept people awake all night. The hotel is all built around the pool and any noise made in the centre area of the hotel just echos the whole way through the place.

Then there are the rooms that face the Kartika Hotel, theses rooms are directly above the staff parking lot so all day and all night you have the sound of motorbikes revving and coming and going. The Sun Island needs to invest in some double glazing for their windows.

And then there is the weird elevator set up. It doesn't stop at level 3, it stops at level 3 and a half so you need to go up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room. Probably not an issue with most people but a big pain in the bum if you have a child asleep in a pram or someone in a wheelchair etc. Don't quite understand why they have set it up this way.

The positives on this hotel is that the beds are comfortable, the food was yummy and the staff pleasant.
