Booked this trip on day 1 of the Jetstar opening sale for the Lombok route. All went very smoothly with flight and transit through airport and in taxi to hotel. Pacific Beach Cottages in or just a few minutes out of Sengiggi (to be accurate).
This is a lovely peaceful little hotel of 25 cottages and four new villas. Our room is quite charming and everything works. We ate here last night and had 2 Lombok dishes which were very nice. Breakfast was the usual choices, one of them being bacon which I didn't expect. It is more than 20 years since we were in Lombok. It has changed a lot of course but is not spoilt in my opinion. (I don't know you stay away from a place for 20 years and they go and change stuff on you. How dare they?)
Anyway 3 nights here and one in Kuta and then off to Bali and my "happy place", Sanur Beach Villas.
We were thinking of going to the Gillies while here but the ocean is shaking it's head and saying "NO" so we are not! I heard that all the boats from Gillies to Bali are cancelled for a couple of days but that is just what we were told by a driver, don't know if it so.
