I have purchased antibiotics every time I go to Bali as I stock up and bring a few home (berate me and say what you will.....yes I self prescribe and have self managed my family for last 35 yrs of my career, usually basics like urine infections and infected wounds etc, keeps a space in emergency rooms for others..... us nurses do that a lot !!
I have found that there is quite a price difference between Apoteks..... if you buy at any of the local more "Western" pharmacy's around Kuta, legian, big shopping centres etc the price is very high. I get a driver to take me to an Apotek out in suburbs that the average Balinese would go to and it is waaaaay cheaper. You don't need a prescription.
PS... we are a VERY well and healthy family of 5 whom usually go the herbal route and live on Olive Leaf extract, none have ever had any hospitalisations even with 2 asthmatics and I don't over treat and always follow up with a Dr review (lol even if it is a free one at work).
