I have heard many stories like this about some orphanages. I cannot remark as I do not donate to the orphanages.I donate to the 'Bumi Sehat' birthing centre in Ubud and have been doing so for several years.
Robin is an amazing woman, as are all her staff. She has been at this centre for years. Well worth having a look at the website.
All donations go to where it is needed. When I take clothing (from new born, children's, or women's) it is greatly appreciated. As well as helping in bali, she also started care in Aceh, and recently the Philippines.
At the moment they are desperate for baby wraps and lightweight clothing.
