We were on one of the last voyages of the old Superstar Gemini from Hong Kong to Singapore via Vietnam, it sailed into HK Harbour flying the Quarantine Flag and they would not let anyone off for hours because of an outbreak of Norovirus the day after leaving Singapore about 75% of the passengers went down with it and that was from Singapore, one of the cleanest and safest cities in Asia.

On the way down to Singapore, after we finally got on board, about 50% of us, me included, went down with a croup type cough, and guess where that came from, the Qantas flight from Perth to HK thanks to some bloke who coughed most of the way up and as a heap of the passengers were for the Gemini it spread like wild fire!

So any contagious disease can happen anywhere any time but is most contagious when in planes and ships where there are crowds within confined spaces, a bit like Bail I suppose, just kidding folks....
