We were last there in August, so I don't know if anything might have changed since.
We arrived at about twenty to 4, and there was about 6 people lined up. There was a separate queue for hotel guests which were 2. We went down with the first inclinator load. We had a great choice of seats but because we weren't staying at hotel, could not sit up around the bar.
Even later in the night we couldn't sneak in..! The only problem was that it was absolutely stinking hot, everyone was sitting around under little black umbrellas with iced washers around our necks!
Fabulous spot, and we had also considered staying at the hotel for a few nights for a very special treat. Do not know about the rooms, but the gardens and landscaping are gorgeous. Looking forward to another night there next trip.
