granted the story only made the news because Kylie is in the media, there are many posts on this and other forums regarding the apparent rise in gastro intestinal illnesses that people are coming down with.
Its no secret, the place is filthy. Its on the streets,in the ocean and the river systems. Its not only tourists that are ill, locals suffer from poor health and ailments and those of you who leave Kuta will know this to be true, sadly it just doesn't make the news.
