I haven't flown with AA so can't speak on what their planes or service are like, but I do know that although the airport is partially closed over the APEC conference, apparently they are still selling seats on flights that arrive when the airport is closed.
Jetstar are at least showing the flights correctly and have moved some people around - their Customer Service phone line of course has no idea of what is happening but at least they do seem to be making an effort.
So it seems that Jetstar are marginally better than AA if things go a bit awry, for what it's worth.
