Like several thousand years ago when the first pastoralist bands of humans evolved on the Asian steppes. They have been specifically bred by human populations to work for them and are far removed from the original animals of the wild. Dolphins have never been domesticated, and why should they? Just to provide you with amusement?

And hey, I wouldn't defend keeping horses in cruelly small enclosures either. As for the 25m x 25m dolphin enclosures, that's a far cry from the 50 km that dolphins can swim daily in the wild.
