They dont exercise a choice, they are conditioned to return by the offer of food. The owners manipulate them and then claim they are free to choose. It's basic animal psychology, not real choice.
Sowhat if they are fed generously, (1) thats conditioning and (2) prisoners who are fed generously are still prisoners.
