Day 9: Today hubby is booked in for 6hrs at tattoo parlour so son & I go into Kuta for more shopping. I managed to buy older son a beautiful silver watch from Bagus Watches on Jl Pantai for $55. Excellent copy watch, they even took out 3 links for me. A bit more shopping, lunch at Burger King (yeah I know, whoopee). Back to hotel for pool time, then hubby back with 2 new tattoos, and very sore but very pleased with himself.
Dinner tonight we are catching up with more friends (B&D) at the Puri Raja for 60th, buffet dinner beach side, & a one man band. Another excellent night in Bali.
Day 10: Off to breakfast, then son & I off to hotel spa for massage. I suggested to the girls at the spa that they need to place a spa menu & price list in each room as it was very quite again. Afterwards we had a lovely lunch at Moo Moo's, first time here. We were happy with the friendly service, although hubby's meal was so-so but my ceasar salad was great & son enjoyed his burger.
Dinner tonight was at La Lucciola which we booked a few days ago. I have had this restaurant on my must do list for a long time now so very much looking forward to this. Son staying at hotel with friends (K&S)so off in a taxi to Sinar Hotel to pick other friends (B&D). Wow what an amazing building, wished we had come earlier to watch the sunset, oh well, will have to be another time. We had a lovely meal, fantastic attentive waiters, great company, what more could you ask for? After dinner we went to Mixwells Club in Legian. You wouldn't think much of this street during the daytime, however, at night time it comes alive, it was like stepping into a mini Vegas LOL. As we were a bit early, we were ushered straight to the front of the stage and had prime viewing. Our drinks waiter was a very funny guy who kept us entertained until the show started. We got to see Lady Ga Ga, Whitney Houston & Rhianna. It was a good fun night, plenty of laughs, then back to the hotel by the stroke of midnight. We would have loved to have stayed longer at Mixwells but flying home tomorrow.
Day 11: After we'd packed our suitcases, we decided to spoil ourselves on our last day and have breakfast at the Mozarella restaurant at the Magani Hotel just down the road. What a delicious breakfast, and the coffee is just what I needed. After brekky we asked to have a look through a few rooms and we were very impressed. This is a hotel I will recommend for my 50th birthday guests next year. Some last minute dvd shopping, then back to the hotel for last minute foot massages at the hotel spa (quite again) and then sadly checked out at midday. The flight was delayed 20 minutes but we arrived back in Perth at 7.50pm to a not so cold evening. As this was the first time in our approx 15 trips to Bali that we didn't have any wood products to declare, we were through the airport in record time.
Another fantastic Bali holiday over. Hope you have enjoyed reading my JBR:-)
