Just returned on Monday morning after a quick but wonderful 8 day holiday. I travelled with my parents aged 80 and 75 and my 22 year old daughter who is disabled. I had doubts how this would turn out but it couldn't have been better. Firstly the staff at the Padma were very accommodating to all our needs. There was that difficult moment when they showed us our connecting rooms that were too far for my daughter to manage to walk to....so after some discussions and another room that wasn't suitable ( insert reason being I'm pretty sure some kind of sewerage treatment was happening at the time we viewed the room! ) we managed to score lagoon pool facing rooms. We ate some delicious meals at Pavone, Indo National, Mozzarella, Uncle Norms and Tekor. We also had the best meal at Padma on the Italian theme night. Every breakfast was a mini feast of one of everything imaginable. Even though she had difficulty walking my daughter soldiered on and I was very proud of here. We shopped and shopped and had a really great experience at a shopping centre on Sunset Road...like Matahari but absolutely no crowds and pushy perfume sellers. Highlight was a visit to Bali Bird Park. I contacted our driver whom I had meant a few years ago and we finished the day stocking up with homewares. The weather was great, the rupiah exchange rate high. We flew with Garuda from Sydney and paid VOA at the airport straight after we had checked our bags in. This meant straight through the airport in Bali after we had collected our bags. I rang an optician representative and we all got new reading glasses and prescription sunglasses and we are very impressed by them. So thankful to the ground staff at both airports who arranged wheelchair transport for my daughter which helped so much. A trip I will remember for a long time.
