Just wanted to give an update as the new arrangements may affect some people. Planes are still landing at the old airport however you walk through to the new one for baggage collection and immigration/customs. Be aware that if you do have difficulty walking long distance, the walk to the new airport may be difficult for some depending on where your flight pulls into the old terminal. There were some people on my flight with walking sticks and the walk was obviously difficult for them. Please remember wheelchairs are available. Also, if you are flying Garuda and have visa on board make sure someone lets you know where to line up in immigration. This did not occur yesterday and as such most passengers lined up with everyone else and the line was massive. A few of us headed for the APEC delegates line and were asked if we were from Sydney and we went straight through after showing the visa pass they give you on board. There are more carousels however they were only using one yesterday so a very long wait. Immigration is now like in Australia with one long line leading up to around 6 booths. Once out of the airport the walk to be picked up by a driver is much shorter however the wait for the driver to collect his vehicle from the multi storey carpark yesterday was around 30 mins and there were no seats. Traffic was horrendous in and around the airport. Took 50 minutes to clear airport then another 30 min wait for driver to collect vehicle. The area which is open is large and open with high ceilings and good air-conditioning however it is already showing signs of ware and tear unfortunately, perhaps they are rushing too much and not paying much notice to detail. It has a long way to go yet.
