I would suggest, if its a nice day that you make your way to the city foreshore. There are nice places to eat and have a drink or you could hire a bicycle and ride along the bike paths, catch a ferry to South Perth or go on a river cruise towards Freo to check out the Millionaires homes along the riverbanks. I'd give the Perth Zoo a miss as it would disappoint you compared to Taronga. You could also, time allowing catch a bus up to Kings Park to check out the awesome view of our beautiful city. Just in case you're not aware though, the domestic and international airports are separate so you'd need to catch the free bus to drop off your luggage first and then take the airport bus to the city. Make sure you leave the city before 3 though as the international airport is in the industrial area of Perth so the roads get busy out that way after 3pm.
