prophylactic daily.
Secondly, at the first sign of illness I start serious rehydration immediately.
I take local diapel? tablets that are made of activated kaolin (clay) immediately, two on every movement.
IF its progressing I use Flagyl three times daily. This is an antibotic that targets certain organisms, generally those with tails.
I generally find that within a couple of hours of the first tablet I start to improve markedly.
By doing this I have been able to manage several attacks that previously needed a doctor, a week of terrible illness, and being ill enough that if at home I would have been hospitalised.
Prior to doing this I was seriously ill every time..
I travel to Bali 2 or 3 times a year, and have done so for a long time. This also worked for me in India.
I have done some research, and apparently there is a particular bacteria that produces a toxin that some people are allergic to. I must be one of those people.
I didn't work this out by myself, but with my local gp.
I would suggest people always talk to their doctor.
I hope this helps
