I have always used travel insurance and never had to make a claim until now, this time I injured my back and they have been wonderful.
I gave BIMC my policy details, they contacted the insurance company and billed them direct.
I had paid the first bill for the initial consult etc at BIMC but will claim it back when I get to Australia.
The Neurosurgeon I had to see will be paid for by them and had I had the surgery here they would also have paid.
I am returning home tomorrow night and they organised the change of dates with Garuda and would have upgraded me to BC if I wasn't already travelling it.
They have organised wheelchair transfers at both ends and have a reverse charges number to call them on.
They have also rung me a few times to see how I am and would have organised me to be flown home earlier except for my dental plate not being back from Java and my not wanting to go toothless. (I am having an extraction and the new tooth is being put on a new plate for me).
The policy for 3 weeks only cost about $70 with $100 excess.
Would never travel anywhere without travel insurance and can recommend 1Cover which insures thru Allianze.
