Day 2: Up and off to hotel breakfast by 9am, the usual organised chaos which is Bali. Most mornings were the same meal options, cereal, a rice or noodle dish, salad, eggs any way which you ordered at a counter, toast, pastries, fruit platter, tea & coffee. As I don't eat breakfast at home, it's nice to be spoilt on holiday and I can always find the room for a mixed omelette. Off in taxi to Centros for a bit of a look (husband and son off to Amazon) in the homewares shop where I always manage to find a table runner amongst other things that I just have to have. Purchased a nice pair of blingy sandals also. Back to hotel for pool time but we stopped off along the way at the new Stones Hotel on Beach Rd (going to Bali next year for 50th so newly wed daughter wants us all to stay somewhere a bit flashy as a treat so promised we'd check it out). We asked to have a look through one of the rooms and I have to admit although we were very impressed by this hotel, not sure it is what we are after. We then walked along Beach Rd to Melasit Street and booked a 2 day trip to the Gilli Islands from a tour booth. They were 2 very helpful guys who assured us we'd be going over on a safe boat, Aussie safety standards. Gee, too late to change our minds now!! Will write about the Gilli holiday in Part 3 which will follow.

Dinner tonight was at Mozarellas on Padma Street. You just can't fault this restaurant for the food and service. Delicious meal and of course fantastic 2 for 1 cocktails. I just couldn't go past the pinky mojitos.

Day 3: A bit of a nothing day today, pool time of course, lunch by the pool (excellent prices), & hotel spa time. What more would you want eh, a good book, good company, & of course sunshine. The biggest decision of the day - "where are we going for dinner tonight?". Decided we'd try out Legends on Garlic Lane as we are trying to pick a venue for my 50th, want somewhere where we can have a meal, listen to a band and have a dance. We've walked past this place a million times over the years but always end up at Billy's. Anyway, we had a lovely meal at Legends, & the staff are really friendly & attentive. I ordered myself a 'plucka duck' - a plastic duck filled with a very delicious alcoholic drink. We ended up booking a table for 8 people (we had friends arriving) for the following Tue night for their RocknRoll night they were advertising. It promised to be a fun night so looking forward to that.
