There is a Franciscan Sister's orphanage at Tuka, Dalung, 20 minutes from Legian, which I believe to be honest, educating kids and not turfing them out at 17yo, keeping them until placed in jobs. We have been supporting them since about 1988 and have been most impressed.
Panti Asuhan, Tuka , Dalung is the address. Sunday afternoon at about 330 after nap-time is a good time to visit.
