You should have contacted Telstra to activate international roaming before you left Australia. You will have to contact them to activate it, unless you have someone else who is authorised to speak with them on your behalf. Even if you only receive calls you pay for this as well - it's not free. If you really need to receive calls best that you by a cheapie phone and then let people in Oz know your new mobile number so that they can contact you. Good luck.
