the more it stays the same in many ways. Peak hour traffic is worse and sadly Legian and Kuta are pretty much building sites in many areas. Even more convenience stores and fewer little mum and dad shops. However, that said, I think all the things you love are still the same. I walked past Sri Ratu a couple of weeks ago during my morning "getting lost in the gangs" stroll.
