Not a big JBR. Had two wonderful weeks there. Flew Garuda both ways, both flights full and on time, leg room seems to have improved, tucker OK. Seems at long last that Garuda serve hot coffee !

We were in Tanjung Benoa, the majority of time spent on the beach at the hotel. Went into Kuta twice, on both occasions to meet up with friends. If you use the Cicle K over the road from Green Garden make
sure you check your change.

Had a visit to the hotel by the drop dead gorgeous Charliebalibear and
her husband, good to catch up with them over a nice lunch and to hear of the progress that they are making for the local community.

Went up to the orphanage at Amlapura, the children are doing well, there are 30 there now. One young man did so well at High School that he has won a scholarship to Uni. That has pleased us no end. Another young man has taken to athletics and at 16 is the fastest on the island in the 800 metres.

A big thankyou to the Forumites who include the orphanage in their itinery for visits. They now have a 10 channel TV set which was donated by Forumites, the viewing hours are regulated so as not to interfere with their studies. This was the first visit where it was not neccessary ( thanks to the generosity of visitors ) to purchase food. We replaced lots of pots and pans, brushes, detergants, shampoos, toothbrushes, soaps etc etc and some treats. A good visit but always a little sad to leave, somehow or another they got word of my wifes birthday and made her a lovely cake.

Stormy, I know you'll read this, well done for all your knitting, you are a star!

I tend to get an urge after about a week of the local food for something really substantial and get my self up to the Collection for a spare ribs at Tropical. After six days I got the urge, I could smell it, I could taste it, my taste buds were hanging out for it my mouth was watering and this was at 10am. Caught the complimentary bus from the hotel at 7.15, the bus seemed to be taking for ever. Got off the bus, walked up the stairs and there was a power failure. Ah well,
Gado Gado again !

Never been over there for Nyepi so we are going in March. Soon as we get as we get the date confirmed I'll book flights.

Cheers.
