Got back on Saturday in Perth then flew home to geraldton Sunday and have been sick with flu ever since Sunday night. 3 days off work so far glad I didn't get it in Bali.
Hubby and I flew to Bali Friday July 5 for a much needed R and R. Hubby was with me for 8 days then I had 4 girlfriends arriving for the next 7 days. We stayed one night at Semara resort in seminyak. This was so hubby could visit Sarong for dinner as we had Christmas dinner there and he wanted to return. It did not disappoint us it was delicious once again and so cheap really $64 for the two of us with a cocktail and a juice, 2 waters, naan bread, 2 small starters and 2 mains. We walked home ready for bed as we had arrived about 5pm.

Next day we went up to Ubud our second home. Stayed at Cendana resort in monkey forest road. Great location so easy to walk around. Usually we get a bike straight away but decided not to the first day and we walked all day up hanoman street and monkey forest street checking out places and stopping and chatting here and there to old friends. Had a massage at Venezia spa went back numerous times and the girls went there each day for up to 2 hours they were so into the pampering.
The weather was quite mild as I only had two quick swims in two weeks. It rained quite a bit too but it always does in ubud. Really don't need to pay for aircon in ubud in July I must remember that.

Hubby went to the gym each day up off the Main Street. And we did some yoga classes together. We had a lovely time. Discovered two small yoga classes where in one of the it was just us. Specialised class was awesome. We also did some bahasa Indonesian classes at the Pondok Pekak library with the lovely Nyoman. Really enjoyed that and learnt quite a lot in a short time. Classes were only $12.00 each. They also do group classes. We would like to come back for a month and do some intensive language classes.

Lots of wining and dining. Tried the Queens Tandoori for the first time delicious. Girls arrived and hubby left. I moved rooms and had an upstairs superior room to myself. Unfortunately there was a rooster and a nightclub (of sorts) directly behind this room but I had my ear plugs which I always take with me so it was fine. The girls loved cendana and ubud. We kept very busy having massages, , yoga classes, live music at nights, art classes and wining and dining. One day we went to seminyak with a driver for the day. Had the high tea at Biku was fabulous and even got a photo with John from Home and Away hahahaha.....

Had a spa treatment and did some DVD shopping and the day was almost over! We went down to the La Planche beach club and sat on the colourful beanbags for a drink and some dinner. That was a lovely relaxed evening. Got back into ubud around 9.00pm.

The cooking class was the highlight for everyone (see my report on that separately) also the girls loved having lunch at Kafe on Hanoman street. Beautiful salads and juices. Clear cafe another fave.

One day we visited Bumi Sehat birthing clinic with some donations. That was very special as there were three newborn babies and families. What a great place that is for the local women and women from all over Bali.also visited the Green school however we couldn't go in as we did not have a tour booked and didn't have the time to wait for the next scheduled tour.

I didn't get time to take the girls to the monkey forest or to tegallalang rice terraces the week went so fast. On my last morning i got up early to go for a walk and found a rice field walk just up,past jl Kajeng. it was a beautiful peaceful time for me and i returned down Jl Kajeng with all the engraved pavers, how delightful. I then had breakfast at Casa Luna rather than back at the hotel. I was ready then to go home. They all want to go again in 2 years time:)
