I haven't looked at all the date, but could see from a quick glimpse this is not correct.
389 brits died in Thailand in 2012/2013. In the same period there were 920,164 visitors. A death rate of 0.04%. That's one in every 2635 visitors... (that's A LOT!)
94 brits died in the Philipines in the same period, YET there were only 128,282 visitors. A death rate of 0.06%... that's one in every 1364 visitors. Bloody hell.
115 died in New Zealand, who had ONLY 189,056 visitors - one in every 1634 visitors. Not as bad as the philipines, but much better than Thailand.
For the record, no british deaths recorded in Indonesia - and no consular assistance provided to those caught with drugs either... yep that's right, we aint helping Lindsay Sandiford. And damn right too!
