Shame to hear Sorriso is no more. That being said, we didn't frequent it last time (January 2013) so I guess we're partly to blame! Prior to that it always seemed quiet, yet we had wonderful experiences there.
A couple of dining experiences that Ruby didn't mention (I agreed with most she mentioned btw); Mozaic Beach Club in Batu Belig, don't miss it, and on your way back stop in at Caffe Gusto on Umalas 2 for the most amazing homemade gelati & ice-creams! Also Kaizan in Seminyak for Japanese. Go upstairs to cook your own Korean BBQ, only open for dinner from 6pm. For gorgeous cocktails & a VERY yummy menu; Hu'u in Petitenget.
As for the 'must do' in dining, without doubt it's La Lucciola, sure there may be better menus, but there is no better combination of food and venue in my experience. Do the weekend breakfast, what a way to start the day! 8 trips in 8 years, La Lucciola and Kaizan are the only places we've done EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Enjoy.
