Took the lovely 12yo Dea to Waterbom, wow has this place changed since i went 10 years ago. Amazing and new slides. I still think the lazy river suits this lazy bule! Some got stuck in slides. Watched a friend be .....best described as flushed down a toilet. But his conclusion was- it was magnificent!
Had a lovely dinner at the villa with everyone, all the Bules plus Made, Sari, Dea and Putu. All Balinese eat on floor whilst me with the flexibility of a stick- sat on a chair. Chicken and chips. I am quiet sure my baliense friends think we eat chips like they eat rice as a staple.
Putu took the leftovers home for her dogs. She still dresses them. The Chihuahua even has his own special sombrero.
Ate at Pearl (again) dessert tasting platter to die for. Hardly anyone there -which i find so strange as Bali was heaving with tourists? Pearl's food was so beautiful as always and with cocktails and 3 courses came out at around $65 per person. How can you beat that for 5 star dining?? Also went to the skytop of the LHotel and booked the teppanyaki. The food was really good and we picked the most expensive banquet @$50 each.Chef was funny, entertaining and a great chef. Wine is pricey so be careful! Had lunch at Grocer and Grind. lovely place but everytime i go -i feel hotter in the airconditioned section than the overhead fan section! we always order takeaway like the chickens etc from here and they come and deliver- super yummy coleslaw. Prices for takeaway are pretty good too.
Drove around finishing bits and pieces on last day. The intersection curving around Kerobokan Jail is so congested. So bad, we all reckon if a prisoner escaped and grabbed a taxi or getaway car- guards would knock on door and stay 'out you get son' because you would still be in the intersection 1 hour later!
Went to Miow shoes and handbags -on Kerobokon Rd (of course) i love their stuff. i want to stuff it all in my suitcase. Gorgeous leather and diamante sandals plus matching clutches.
Yuni - Happy Tailor Bali came and all the men loved their shirts. We were sad to say goodbye to her. Not only talented, affordable, funny but also very informative about restaurants, tourists spots, culture etc....
All my Balinese friends came to see us off at 5 30 am. Teary again. Will miss them dearly yet again. Screaming child all the way from Bali to Perth....yep i am truly blessed. Then wait at airport for 4 hours for flight to Adelaide.
Finally got home at 10pm.
Seriously ....whats up with this weather! I think i need to go somewhere warm??
