Have heard of many that have had no issues other than one person who had their wooden stuff together in their hand luggage, for ease of finding it in Sydney, and of course had it confiscated in Bali. They did not say anything at the first xray but the final one just before boarding so he had no choice but to hand it over. Lesson learnt.
