recently (3weeks ago) had our Villa completed after about a 2 years process), in this location. Now we just have to complete furnishing it - the usual beds, curtains etc etc. It's quite isolated - by Bali tourist standards, but that's the way we like it. No shops, hawkers or touts where we are. Just Sapi (cattle), chooks and the usual dogs barking. Closest supermarket (Indomaret), is 500m away. Laundry's and local warungs abound. All run by fabulous, friendly (and inquisitive) local people. Not too far to get into Denpasar if we need doctors, dentists etc. Great being able to live in a village lifestyle without the incessant cars, bikes and honking taksi's. Will we retire there permanently? Probably not, but its great to be able to save up and go back to Ungasan every 2 to 3 times a year. Own pool, own privacy and fabulous local people. Living the Life? We think we're pretty close to it, and grateful for the opportunity too.
