Would totally recommend visit to BP and adjacent reptile park. Well worth the money. OK lots of birds in cages but best is their "free flight"(?) show where there are eagles, hawks, owls etc performing swoops, pick ups, feeding.... run twice a day (maybe 10am & 3pm but check).
Have a fantastic photo of my wife holding a lizard(?) in the reptile park...about as long as she is tall.
I'd guess maybe 1.5 hour by car from Legian. Parks are just south of Ubud which is worth a visit.
