6 days into our trip I have a sore throat and feel a little poorly. I blame this on the snorting taxi driver the other night! Love our villa but 9am breakfast arrives at 10. 8am breakfast -9am. i think they are around corner p&^%$*g themselves that we are patiently waiting each morning ...ah Bali Time.
Trying to show VS the sites. TooK VS to Sanur, dropped purse in excitement when she saw the turtle exhibition. No problem ... rescued it for her. Left her camera in Made's car ...no problem they brought it back. Walking along street dropped her shopping ..no problems we picked it up. mmm...VS has discovered and ventured into Bali Time.
Yuni- Happy Tailor Bali has brought all our stuff. She is always on time but once text to say she thought due to traffic would be late -however wasn't. Everything is amazing and we are so happy we book her again for when the men folk arrive - they need some sprucing up!! She certainly lives up to her name - happy tailor -happy customer!
Went to a very basic but popular Warung in ..drum roll..Kuta. We are venturing to Warung Malang to meet friends.
Walking through gangway with every motorbike in Bali whizzing past. Local teenager -looks so stoned could try out for the Walking Dead series lunges at me ...' hello beautiful' . All my broken Indonesian / Balinese goes out the window. Left with....'Thats enough now!!'. OMG -when did my mum get here??
Warung basic -food amazing. 3 Bintangs each and loads of food $5 each. Saw a lady who worked at a Spa i go to all the time. For confidentiality reasons we will call her Lolita. Lolita is wearing what can best be described a hanky for an outfit. She is as always delightful but sitting in a bale - where the hell do you look??? Wish her well and continue our evening. the next day -once again in search of the embroidered bag with poms poms.Caught in what i call the Jakarta traffic scrum. Indonesian school holidays and everyone including their children bring their cars from the mainland to Bali grrrr...... I Hour to go round the block! So bad we get out at Double 66 in search of 'the bag' and find Made only 2 cars down from where we left him!! Sitting in car and all of a sudden- Lolita wizzes past on motorbike in another hanky. Will we see her again? is she stalking us? Are we just paranoid or subconsciously we want to know where she buys those hankys? Friends took us to Bakery Corner in Denpasar - best Soto Ayam, Nasi and pastries to die for. Putu continues to practice 's%^t' and 'sheet' pronunciation. It's a work in progress .
