Day 3:
Quick stop at monkey forest -always good for a laugh watching alpha males showing hubby who is boss - before checking out the refurbed ubud market. That took all of 3 mins.
Stroll down to tjampuhan mas, where we stayed about 10 years ago. Used to be remote, but ubud has grown.... Still gorgeous. Add that to the places to stay again.
Back to Villa to say goodbyes and check-out. For US $150 Motama is worth a punt. No reception perse, but the mobile phone issued on check in takes care of any needs. Villas bigger than any I have stayed at and service is attentive. Took me a while to orientate myself, but its about 2 blocks from monkey forest on Gyianyar (?spelling) side.
Time to move to Legian and meet up with family at KP.
No offence, but walking into that mausoleum reception at Kumala was a come-down! Not knocking the resort, because it is fabulous, but someone needs to take to that place with a skip-bin and get rid of all that wooden sh!t.
Pleasantly, whole family ensconced in same block, SG, overlooking new pool.
Few cocktails then family fave, Poppies for dinner. Exceptional, as always. I can't help it, have to have a 'famous Poppies Piña Colada' every time... Yummy and scary all at the same time!
Day 4:
Quad biking with See Bali. $50 USD ea. Great muddy fun made even better with significant overnight rains.
Dinner at Bale Udang with other family mbrs on hols in bali atm too. If you're into seafood, this place is the cheese! Make sure you book a Bale over the water.
I'm buggered... Aren't we supposed to be on holidays?
Day 5:
Rafting on Talaga Waja with Ayam. $25US ea. another great day, although not as much water in the river as last year which left us stranded on rocks at times. Hubby did fall out, which was cause for much hilarity.... Laughing with you, Darling, laughing with you..... Did I mention my knee is still sore? Sorry God/hubby!!
Appetisers and 2-4-1 cocktails at Niksoma. Yum. Sisters thinking we are due for a girls trip and might stay here next time.
Dinner at Bianco, which is hubby's fave Nasi Goreng. Bloody noisy w AFL, NRL and Rugby all blaring at full volume at the same time. Had to duck outside and check out a few frock shops to save my eardrums. Hubbies collective, strangely, seemed to cope just fine. I'm sure if it was ABBA at that volume they would've sworn they were bleeding from the ears...
