forum I won't suggest it but I did a JBR in May 2011. Garry's info is accurate as usual and the cave he refers to is Goa Karangsari, which is certainly worth a visit, as is Crystal Bay which has some some lovely snorkelling, though this is more accessible by boat from Lembongan. On Penida, the roads are often dreadful, which requires caution and some skill/experience if you ride a motorcycle/scooter. You are rewarded with some special views and an almost complete absence of tourists. Following is an extract from my JBR, about Goa Karangsari:

This is a serious cave. After climbing a really challenging set of steps, you discover a temple overlooking the sea. A guide will take you into the cave. You squeeze down into the dark through a narrow aperture, crouch and waddle under a low rock and are presented with a cave perhaps 15 metres high, 30 metres wide and over 200 metres long. Past carved deities, towards the end there is another small temple within the cave, attended by a pemangku, acolytes and pilgrims, and the cave then opens on to a verdant valley, stunningly beautiful in the late afternoon sunlight.
