Hi We took our kids who at the time were 10 and 8 on a day trip to ubud. We booked a Taro elephant ride (but without the lunch package)we went with our own driver, did the elephant ride, feed the elephants, watched the show etc, stayed about 3 hrs in total, then we went to ubud and had a lovely lunch at cafe Wayan, which is a beautiful garden setting if you ask for a table away form the street and a quick look at ubud markets. You can also see the monkeys and temples in ubud etc...I took snacks and drinks for in the car. They really enjoyed as we drove trhough towns seeing the rice drying on the tarps on the side of the road, people working in the fields, seeing the woord carvers working away and of course all the other unusual things you see in Bali traffic.....
