I went in Jan so plenty of accomodation. I am in my early 50's (a female and like to save on travel). Did not book, just rolled up and found a cheap clean room, with a fan and no aircon. It is not that hot on the island so a fan was fine- even in the humid weather- wet season- Jan. Mind you, I live in Darwin so the weather in Bali is the same as Darwin.
