I lost track of the number of "F*** you's" we were given from store holders this year, just simply because we said no thanks or ignored them as we walked past. They sit on their lazy fat asses smoking cigarettes all day and get upset because we won't throw tonnes of money (we actually had to work hard for) at them. However we did find a good driver this year. Gede Sumerta. He hangs around jl kartika plaza in front of ramada bintang hotel. You can always tell a bad driver, within 10 minutes he'll be speaking about money, and how rich we are in Australia and how poor they are etc.. As soon this happens, pay him 50'000rp and get the hell out of there else you'll be in for a bad day. Gede however never spoke about money, never asked for anything and never complained. He was brilliant, and when we paid him at the end of the day, we gave him a bit extra, and he was genuinely surprised and thankful. It was a welcome change from the usual pack of cheats behind the wheel. I even had a bluebird taxi driver refusing to use the meter and demanding $10 just from seminyak to legian. Cheeky buggers they are. Bluebird is meant to be reputable. Mostly they were though.
