I live on the way to Ulawatu temple and have been many times it is a very nice place to go, when we have friends come and stay l usually take them there around 11AM but always stop and buy fruit and bread to take for the monkeys. It cost around $2 to get into the area where the monkeys are. You can hire a local with a ging who will keep the monkeys away if you do not want them to jump on you. They are very good if you do not try and touch them i am talking about the monkeys not guide. They will climb all over looking for food. There is local warungs in carpark to buy food or drinks and a bit of a toilet fine for the guys not so good for the ladies. The view from the temple area over the ocean is unbelievable so take the camera. From here we usually go to Padang Padang beach excellent spot with a sort of cave walk down the stairs to the white sandy and clean beach. At the bottom you can buy food drink and all the market style clothes and hats. Swimming is safe even have flags but no life savers very funny. All the local van drivers know where to go , Padang Padang is only 5 minutes from Ulawatu temple. On the way back do your self a favor and stop at Kats Kitchen for lunch it is Thai and even the Thai consulate eat there. Hope this helps.
