The only trouble with getting a driver to take you is once you are there you have no transport and Lovina and Amed are not like Kuta with taxis everywhere or walking distance to everything. We hire a small car (Avanza) which is 100% more comfortable than a Suzuki Jimny and only a little bit more expensive and just take our time. The roads for this trip are really easy to find and navigate and the only hard bit if you haven't driven in Bali before, is getting in and out of Legian, though you can avoid most of the worst bits by sticking to the main roads. We have done it at least three times, one of the most interesting was taking the coast road between Amed and Candi Dasa rather than the inland one. The driving looks scary but really everyone is going fairly slowly in the conjested bits so its not as bad as it looks.
