after travelling to many places to only completely trust staff at a couple of hotels that we are regulars at & know the management & most staff very well.We know we could leave a 1/2 empty bottle of perfume in the room & they would call us to let us know that it was left behind ! Be it anywhere in Australia,Asia,Europe or USA - people will still be tempted & items can sadly still disappear.We once even have had a considerable amount of money disappear from a locked safe at reception at a 5 star hotel in Lombok- official complaints were made but naturally no one knew anything about it even though we had proof ! My husband accidentally recently left a USB drive in a very well known 5 star hotel in Hay St near King St,Perth when he travelled there for work & it was never found according to management -so this sort of thing can happen anywhere - even in our own cities there are thieves that service the rooms we stay in & they will take advantage of anything left laying around.Most of the time when travelling we lock anything of value in our suitcases or the safe - as sad as it is to admit,you can trust no one.
