Yes I did this last April with some friends and my then 8 yr old son.
I was concerned out him, getting up early and the climb - but no need to be.. its a steady climb up to the top for about 1.5 hrs... but so worth it once your there.
If your reasonably fit - you will have no problems at all.
After 12 or so trips to Bali - this goes down as one of my highlights.
It gets quite cold up the top - we were glad we took a jacket.
You wont regret the early start - and then you had a wonderful excuse to have a few more cocktails later in the afternoon after your had a nap to recover!
