In Sanur, watching the world go by, and sadly we fly home this afternoon.
It's been a very pleasant short interlude over Easter.
Once again Sanur Beach Villas has been a wonderful place to stay, and staying in a villa was lovely. Rosy, Irma, Ron and all the crew make sure that every thing is looked after and you could not ask for better hosts.
We tried some different venues as well as some oldies, Caramel was a lovely surprise, a great setting and awesome food. Cafe Jepun, Rocket bar, Tootsies, Ceasars and the Gardenia cafe all were great again. Tried Apa Kabar, drinks so cheap, service was awesome but the food was a bit of a letdown. Would eat again, but not your authentic Indonesian that you get in some other places.
Had some drinks at the new Casablanca, a great setting with live music every night.
We whiled away a couple of hours at the Ducks Nutz and again it was a good spot to listen to live music over a few drinks. Ate there on Wednesday night as most places were closed for Galungen, and the satay chicken was delicious.
Made our way into Kuta one day and shopped at Bagus watches, got an exact copy of a Carrera watch for a friend for $60. Mataharis had great kids clothes on sale, and found some shoes in Discovery.
Ate lunch at Oceans 27, what a wonderful setting sitting in the beach looking out at the ocean. We ate 4 different tapas, and the Tempura was amazing.
In Sanur we shopped at Tootsies just for the ease of it all being fixed price, was surprised to see the restaurant knocked down but still operating, apparently a leaky roof had to be fixed!
Got up early a few times and rode the bikes down the beach, do it if y have the opportunity too, the most amazing sunrises to be seen, and managed to catch Mt Agung this morning too.
And so we head back to Brissy this afternoon and hangout for our next visit in September.
