I also chaperoned my daughter and her friend to leavers in Bali. My daughter called herself a leaver not a schoolie because she spent the past 2 years studying and said that schoolies were the ones that went to year 12 but did not do the TEE exam, she has been to Bali 9 times but this was the first time she went out at night without the Mummy mafia.....my Mum and sister also came. The girls had a wonderful time with ground rules. Yes you can go clubbing but
1. at the nightclub, only drink water which is opened in front of you
2.If someone is creepy or makes you feel uncomfortable move on
3. keep together regardless even going to the loo
As a responsible parent I feel better now that when my daughter ventures overseas with her friends that she will be aware that you need to be alert regarding clubs, taxi's and strange people.
The girls had a few eye openers which has made aware of what can and does happen when you drink too much or take magic mushrooms
