Around all the areas you were, there are small gangs linking all streets and travel times are a fraction of using the main routes.
Because you are in small lanes, speed is low and you can ask the bike rider to travel slowly too.
We have a motor bike in Bali, but the family always use bike taxis where the "designated rider" (me)is not available.
Bike riders will usually wait outside for you as well for the return.
The plan unfolds a bit if you are buying a lot of stuff, but even then they are very inventive when it comes to transporting both people and whatever else.
